Paul is a genius at fixing, refinishing or transforming furniture. He has applied his skills to several of our pieces. Not only were they fixed and/or improved, but the work blended seamlessly and invisibly into the piece, therefore keeping or even raising its initial value. We collect vintage, mid-century, Scandinavian furniture and Paul, at Murphy's Touch, is the ONLY person we'll even think of going to for maintenance and/or repair. I've tried to add before and after photos to this review, but Google is not accepting them, for some reason!

Paul is a master craftsman. He keeps our hotel looking pristine, adds years to our product and really helps elevate our hotel. He has an incredible level of detail and precision, truly exceptional. We have worked with Paul for almost a decade. He is a throwback and a pleasure to work with.

Our one hundred year old Spanish house had charming hundred year old shutters that were warped and bug ridden, but the soul of our home. Paul did an absolutely beautiful job replicating them. I had six beat up, pecan dining room chairs from the '80s that badly needed restoration, so I called around to a few places and got high estimates that deflated my hopes of ever getting them refinished. I was about to give up when Paul from Murphy's Touch returned my call and matter-of-factly laid out the costs for his services and suggested I text him a picture of one of the chairs. Soon after, he said he could do the job for thousands of dollars less than the bids I had already received, so I readily drove the chairs the short distance to his shop in West L.A. and was ultimately glad I did. Paul said he could complete the job in a reasonable amount of time and suggested I get the chair cushions and fabric replaced at a shop right around the corner from him which worked out great because that establishment did a great job, further bolstering my knowledge that I'd picked the right guy for the restoration in Paul. He even threw in the delivery of the refinished chairs to my home. And they came out beautiful. Paul's a real craftsman who knows his trade and is happy to please his clients. There's that old expression, "You get what you pay for." Well, that was very true with Murphy's Touch, and my wife and I were blessed with complete satisfaction with the fine work Paul did for us, and at the right price!

Paul Murphy is the best! Our family has worked with Murphy’s Touch on various projects for over 20 years! Paul built our custom kitchen table, refinished antique kids twin beds and recently an old dresser. Not to mention that Paul has repaired furniture, from dents and dings to broken chairs. Paul, a third-generation British furniture refinisher, is a meticulous craftsman whom we've used for years. There is hardly a stick of furniture in our house that he hasn't touched, from battered antiques that he salvaged to architect-designed contemporary pieces. He recently refinished our kitchen cabinets which we contemplated replacing because they looked so bad. Glad we didn't because he made them new again. There is no corner-cutting and he has a body of knowledge passed down from his grandfather and father which he's put into practice for decades. Nice guy, too! (In case you can't tell, I'm picky :-)

Paul helped solidify the chair bottoms on a number of my banquet chairs. He did a terrific job and turned around the work in a timely manner. Paul is very personable - a great guy. I highly recommend using him for all of your furniture needs.
